okay so last thursday 16th of june we went to katanning high school where we performed for the first time. It was a good experience. Everything went smoothly. Yay! People intervened when I though nobody would.
(Intervening is when an audience member jumps up and plays a character in a different way and puts their input in on how to change the scene, and how people react.)
Afterwards, we got a good round of applause and then went and did a workshop with fifteen year 10s from the school. And it was amazing that people actually joined in and participated in the activities we did.
So at the end of the day it was a great all around performance
YAY!……..
Next stop: Melville!
We’ve had 3 months of hard work rehearsing and getting ready for our big performances. From starting out not knowing what I am doing with people I don’t know, I have finally worked out my lines and what we have been trying to achieve from the beginning. I have also become friends with the people involved and it’s been great that we have all gotten along.
FIRST STOP KATANNING!!!!!!
This week is so hetic with so much going on. Were performing this thursday at KATANNING Senior High School. It is roughly going to be a two hour drive and were going to be tired. were hoping to get there by 10:30 and start performing by 12:00. Hopefully we can stay awake for the performance. i am feeling a bit nervous about the workshop that we will be running. i plan to run a drama game that is called “What are you doing?”
It involes one person in the middle of a circle that starts acting out a rondom evryday movemonts. e.g.Brushing your teeth. another person then, from the circle steps in and asks “what are you doing?” the person that was in the middle then stops what they are doing and says a rondom act that the other person has to commit. it then continues when the first person in the circle goes back to the circle. you then continue untill told to stop.
On Thursday, 16th June 2011, our first performance is finally happening!
We’ll be at Katanning High School for the first showing of ”Relationship Status”. We’re going to run a workshop with the year 10s after the show.
Bit nervous but I think we’re are going to be fine! I hope the students of Katanning enjoy our performance about relationships between highschoolers and the people around them.
so act out has been so crazy lately!
lots of organization for our first performance coming up this thursday!
i want to with everyone so much luck for katanning ![]()
work hard guys <3
We have been coming together for around three months now and have had lots of fun. In the beginning we had no idea what we were info and what challenges awaited. We started of doing workshops and activities that allowed us to get to know each other a little bit more and allowing each of us to relax and work with one another. When we knew about the other members of the team, in my case: Bree, Ilish, Nic, Emily, Grace, Erika and Fish, we started on work shopping relationships and the impact on our lives. We started saying our relationships with people and there impacts and what was happening with in our families. We began to trust one another a ended up coming up with scenes that have now come to form a short forum play. RELATIONSHIP STATUS!!!
Act out is so much fun and the group; it’s like a big family. I’m going to tell you about the play and my role.
I have to test my self in my role of the tipsy mother of Tanya. Tanya is a 16yr old girl who gets drunk at a party and has n*** pictures taken of her after she passes out.
It’s a pretty intense play and it’s realistically written with all the cast contributing to story.
I’m having so much fun, OMG,OMG, I’m conversing with actual real people. Mum’s proud.
